Kuvaus: The black-and-white film by Ernst Hirsch from 1959 was a commissioned production for the GDR's Deutsche Fernsehfunk. It shows the path that the art treasures, e.g. of the Green Vault and the Picture Gallery, have taken since the Second World War, starting with their evacuation and removal due to the war, their transfer to the Soviet Union by the Red Army, and their return to the GDR in 1958. The title refers to the exhibition of the same name that was shown in the Albertinum in 1959 and in which the returned objects were presented. For the film, Ernst Hirsch used clips from newsreels as well as photos from Richard Peter's illustrated book "Dresden - eine Kamera klagt an".
This film was digitized as part of the model project "Sicherung des audiovisuellen Erbes in Sachsen" (Securing Audiovisual Heritage in Saxony) of the Film Association of Saxony (2018) in cooperation with: Hirsch Film Filmproduktion, Sächsische Landesbibliothek - Staats- und Universitätsbibliothek, funded by: Saxon State Ministry for Science and Art.
